FAQs
You may access the property from 16.30 on the day of arrival (earlier arrivals are strictly by arrangement only). Please note that departure is by 10.00 on your final day (again, later departures are strictly by arrangement only). We need this time to ensure that the Lodge/Retreat is ready for your arrival after the previous guests have left.
As we have such a tight turnaround for other guests arriving, we ask all guests to put all their towels in the wet rooms ready for collection and to put all the crockery in the dishwasher and put it on the appropriate cycle. We also ask guests to put all their rubbish in the bins provided outside for our staff to collect. If guests decide to leave without actioning the above a charge of £50.00 will be charged to the credit card we have on file.
Please drop your keycard at reception when checking out where you will receive a copy of your bill, please check this before leaving the retreat and if you have any queries, please bring this to the attention of reception.
Lost keycards are charged at £10.00.
Yes, please get in touch with us to discuss this.
Pets are welcome in Lodges 1,2 & 3, however this is restricted to 1 small dog. Animals must be healthy, fully house-trained and kept under control, most particularly in the grounds of the Retreat. You are advised to bring your pets bed and food bowls. Under no circumstances are pets allowed on the beds, bedding or furniture and should not be left unattended or allowed to annoy other guests or nearby animals. All fouling should be cleaned up after your pet. Pets are charged at a rate of £35 per stay.
Unfortunately, we cannot extend this welcome to anyone that is not a registered guest. From a health & safety perspective our insurance does not cover such situations. The safety & welfare of all our guests is our top priority.
BBQ coals can be purchased from reception. You will be given a time slot if your requested one is unavailable & our staff will be only too happy to light your coals in advance of your cooking time. We respectfully ask that you leave this facility as you find it so other guests can enjoy their experience also.
Unfortunately, once you have checked out you are no longer covered by our insurance. Access to the water via our private slip way or jetty will no be authorised. This includes the Retreat’s water trampoline.
The Ardlui Retreat is family resort & will not accept any bookings for gatherings of this nature.
We want you to enjoy your time with us but ask that you always respect your fellow guests & our neighbours.
The “Midge” is part & parcel of staying in the Scottish countryside. We have five Midge Machines located discretely around the resort & they are very effective. “Smidge”spray is also an excellent second line of defence. This product is readily available over the counter, but it can also be purchased from reception.
Before each lodge and house check-in, a video is taking on our tablets and can be shared with the lead booker to try and resolve any disputes or challenges they have with their accommodation.
Sadly, not but they are yours to use & enjoy during your stay.
